This was honestly THE BEST sushi we ate in Japan. Very very reasonably priced and the quality was off the charts. Worth the wait in line which moves quickly. Can't rec this place enough. It's part of the Tenjinbashi shopping street where you can do some shopping as well (though we just went for the sushi!)
Very good restaurant. They give you pretty generous cuts of fish, and it is at a fairly good price. I think I got two platters of sushi for under 90 CAD, I did order quite a bit though compared to my friends which combined for about 90. Quality is pretty good for the price and service is good. Quite busy. Had a small line upon arrival. Would recommend when visiting Osaka.
Amazing service, eel was to die for
Amazing quality of sushi for the price! Tried uni here for the first time and it was really delicious! The cuts of sushi are huge and I was way more filling than I had expected while only spending about 4,160 yen ($38 USD) between 2 people; we were both very full at the end. There was a long line outside, but the wait still only took about 15-20 minutes. The restaurant environment is very cheery and a bit noisy, but in a good way. Just like many other reviews state, this is a must go to restaurant in Osaka!
Didn't really live up to the hype, although it was excellent value (very inexpensive). The special unagi sushi was my favorite item (I'd highly recommend it), which is unusual because I don't even like unagi that much. But the uni was too small, overpowered by the cucumber and rice it sits on. Crab cream doesn't match that well with sushi. The tuna/salmon/scallop/shrimp/other shellfish were all pretty underwhelming. Tea was weirdly powdery. And there's a ton of stuff on the Japanese menu that isn't available on the English menu so it's very possible I missed out. If you're craving sushi on the level of Sushi Dai in Tokyo then don't bother coming here, but if you just want quick, decent sushi for a great price then this is your place.
Amazing authentic Japanese experience. You won't find many tourists here or an English menu. Learn some quick Japanese and enjoy the kind and courteous staff in this closet sized restaurant. You'll love it.
Amazing staff that compliments the delicious food. Order the red snapper. It was very fresh and the sushi chef made it to perfection. Very fair prices with a great atmosphere.
Very good value and ok sushi. Did not speak English but that was not an issue. Cash only
Came several times before and always enjoyed it. This time was served a grizzly set of hamachi sushi that was absolutely inedible. After acknowledging my complaint they still charged me for it! Shameful!
Small shop where locals line up. Spent about 26k for two of us and were left a little hungry after. Each piece had a LOT of wasabi we almost cried! Good, affordable, but probably won’t be back.
Sushi is really good and really fresh. Recommended to try it out. Especially the special grilled unagi.
We got there around 1pm on a Saturday. Two of us only waited for about 15 minutes. The sushi was really good. Every piece of fish was pretty big . Good price too. Would definitely go back.
V fresh and cheap sushi. Worth to visit . Especially the miso soup with clam.
Very good fresh sushi for really cheap!
Its Sushi is so fresh. You can easily tell the difference. Although you would take a while to wait but it's really worth it.
Great prices with surprisingly large portions.
Randomly closed to take an extra long holiday
Perfect amounts of wasabi, great "superior" eel and all around top quality sushi. Bit of a wait sometimes though, the sweet spot for getting in without a wait is in the afternoon-early evening.
2nd time here, the quality has dropped, previously the rice is good, but this time round the rice is tough and dry, however they are generous with the cut of the meat and it is fresh, price is reasonable, 3 of us ate 10,950 Yen, but they don’t provide receipt to show what items you order. I do however prefer they maintain the quality of the rice. We came at around 7pm plus on a Monday night and there was no queue, seated at second level, which is a lot brighter compare to level 1, but the restaurant is filled with smoke smell. Staff is friendly and pretty efficient.
I love this place. The prices are amazing for the quality of the sushi given. The fish to rice ratio is great, and the fish is very fresh. It may be a little difficult for non natives to order as this place runs a little differently, but there is a menu, paper, and a pen outside to write down your order. Simply write the name and number of the sushi you want. Although I don't have a lot of sushi experience, this was the best sushi I ever had.For reference, a person will eat around 25 to 40 dollars worth of food.
Amazing sushi here :) there is a great selection of different types of sushi here! Most are 125 yen but some are 200 yen. There was tuna, salmon, crab, prawn, eel, sea urchin, chicken, octopus, egg, corn, cuttlefish and much much much much more. There is matcha green tea powder too and hot water to make your own tea😍😍loved the tea♥️♥️♥️♥️great place to be the origin of all sushi trains :) been here twice and loved it every time!!
Ιt’s an experience! You have to go at this place!
A lively fast-paced sushi joint with good service and incredible fish/eel to rice ratio. Be sure to keep track of your orders and cost. Pretty easy to get lost in the midst of the raucousness.
Favourite sushi place in Osaka. I visit every single time I travel to Osaka. Reasonably priced, super fresh and delicious. Tuna sashimi literally melts in your mouth 🍣 This is a must-go if you're traveling to Osaka! Tip: Go early in the morning (~15mins before they open) so that you don't have to queue during peak hours!
Long line up as always, will come here every time I am in Osaka. Very small busy sushi shop with very fresh and yummy sushi at a reasonable price.
A bit of a wait. There was a gap in the line cause they didn’t want to block other businesses. They allow you to order before you sit down. I thought you had to everything at once so I had too much food came at once. Price was alright for sushi.
English menu with numbered items to select. While waiting outside, you write down the items you would like to have before you are seated. If you know Japanese, then there is a Japanese menu that you can use to write things down. Else, the English menu has numbered items. The restaurant is quite packed. It is a small little place, but the food is quite good. If you are in the mood for sushi and are within a 20 minute walk, I'd suggest coming here for food.
Really lovely authentic Japanese. Everything was super fresh and tasty.
Loved the sushi, very reasonably priced as well. Store was packed and staff were constantly busy, hence you may have to wait quite a bit, but the food is worth it!
There was more than 1 hour queue during weekend lunch hour but the effort was paid off with delicious food.
If you're in for an affordable treat this place is the best one to go for. The sushi is fresh, delicious and has thick slices of fish. The waiter is very helpful and happy to explain how to eat the different types of dishes. As they work with fresh fish, the place itself is quite cold, so better bring a jumper!
Really good sushi for the very reasonable price. We arrived at 7pm on a Friday night and waited about 40 minutes. You pre-order as you wait in line and the food arrives shortly after you are seated. As most of the reviews say, the fish pieces are thick and delicious. The two of us ate 12 sets of ngiri (24 pieces) and spent 4,000Y. Don't be concerned about the bad reviews for this place. Best bang for buck sushi restaurant we have been to yet!
long wait for our turn. unfortunately my tongue couldnt appreciate the higher-priced sushi compared to normal restaurants. place was quite squeezy
It’s just mediocre sushi, totally don’t understand the hype (and the queue) here. Yes it is cheap and portion is big, but that doesn’t make up for the lack of taste and freshness of the sushi. I would just say I expect more from a sushi shop in Japan (and with so many good reviews)...I don’t know whether the other people commented here have had great sushi, but I have and I can say this is nowhere near ‘the best sushi I have eaten’. Service is ok and quick though.
We knew how to queue up and had been waiting in queue for almost half an hour, but the waitress rudely treated us as queue-jumpers (WE WERE NOT!!!) and forced us to the end of line just because she hadn't seen us before, even after a Japanese lady spoke up for us! Extremely rude but no apology!!!
Good price for good sushi. Generous fish portion. Go during non peak hours to prevent long wait. Shop is quite small and cramp. Don’t expect a fancy restaurant. I’m not sure if it can fit 30 people. Cash payment only as of March 2019.
Wow. Best sushi I've ever had. The toro was amazing. Everything were good. Got toro, otoro, maguro, uni, tamago, jyu unagi per recommendation from the security guy at the front. A must visit when in Osaka
Super delicious and fresh! Totally out of my expectations... Far better than any so called nice sushi in namba area.. reasonable price! And super friendly family business.. Great service as well.. it's my hidden gem in osaka trip!!
Amazing food and friendly, fast service at a reasonable price. The line up of locals outside says it all.
Classic Japanese sushi place: small, fresh sushi, polite staff
Good place to eat sushi in a cheap priceSushi here have more rice with it
Sushi is the best ! Good portion with the right amount of rice and fish. Taste is so good and price is very reasonable. The only down side is that the english menu provide limited items so it would be great if you can speak little Japanese to enjoy all the items in the shop.
Usually line is 20-30 mins. There are two in the area but I prefer this one because people usually don't smoke. Sushi is really fresh, staff are friendly and prices are really reasonable.
Queues were a little long especially as we were queuing for 3 seats, however, the food came immediately when we sat down. The sushi was great and at a nice price. Highly recommend getting the Miso soup which was amazing.
What a gem! The line is insane but worth it. You order while waiting, and food arrives the moment you sit down. Japanese efficiency at its most delicious!
Amazing great sushi and atmosphere. Friendly and nice staff. Best sushi in Osaka so far.
Food was awesome and not expensive. But you need to line up a bit..
Slightly difficult to find but very popular with locals. Staff is very nice and attentive.
english menugood sushino reservation needed, you can wait outside
Here is not a sophisticated place, but you can enjoy very tasty and inexpensive sushi in a cozy place. Recommended.
